Another Hershey Update

Well, Hershey is still growing; his birthday is in less than two months! I thought I'd show you some more pictures of him.

Beautiful Living Room

We have been in our Forney house for about five months now, and a month or two ago we finished our living room. It is shown in the picture on the left. It has brown walls, a 40 inch TV mounted above the
fire place, a couch and two chairs (one of them is Dad's recliner) and two shelves. All this you can see.

In case you were wondering, the little box thing in the corner is Dad's oxygen machine; he still takes oxygen when he does not feel very good.

On either side of the fire place there is a fake plant, here is a close up of it. You can hardly tell (not at all from the picture) that one of the vases has been broken and glued back together. My dad did a really good job on that. Whats cool about the plants is that they are Velcro'd to the carpet so that they won't be able to be knocked over.

On one of the shelves, there are these candle holders. Each of them are actually made of two candle holders which Mom glued together. The "base" is one and the top is another.
Mom filled each of the candle holders with decorative rocks instead of placing in a candle : )

I really like my living room, if I had seen it in Ohio I would have thought it was another one of those big and grand houses. God blessed us when he gave us this wonderful house and beautiful living room.

Writing A New Book

Lately I have been struggling with my Hypo-Thyroidism; I have been very tired, with has caused a few other problems. But all things work out for good, and since I started not feeling well I have grown closer to God. Anyway, it has not been nearly as bad as it was a few months ago.

Lately I have been working on a book titled 'Trust', if you have ever heard of the Shadowside Trilogy, it is related to that. It is a lot like Narnia; there is a Jesus character who gets killed (he gets killed at the end of my book). My story takes place way in the future (in year 2756) and on a planet called Kila. I made up a weird creature and high-tech things to give it the feel that it is way in the future (when writing stories, you need to add details that prove what you are thinking. Like with my future theme, I made a microwave that automatically stirs up any food you want in no time at all). My main character is Kalina Hshnaw (funny last name, huh?), and I am not going to tell you what she looks like or what her personality is yet, just that she loves to read. I am trying to make lots of exciting and dangerous parts in my book, and I am even adding in some things that may be important for future books, if I do make a sequel to Trust.

Keep on checking my blog for more on my book!

Valentine Candy Cane Hearts

Valentine's day is here!! My family already has the teachers gifts, guess what the are! My mom thought this brilliant idea up once again (maybe she got it from one of the blogs she follows) ....candy cane hearts!

These homemade valentine gifts must be the fastest and easiest to make! All you need are candy canes (two per heart), and a hot glue gun (tape probably will hold, but not as well).
First, turn the candy canes towards each other. Next, glue the heads (curved part) together, as I did above. This will make it look like a heart, but you are not yet finished.
Third and last of all, glue the bottom of the candy cane together. Really simple, huh.

And there you have it! The easiest edible hearts you can ever make! Have a great Valentines day!

Christian Books

There aren't very many good christian books in our world. Not very many to rely on. But God has led men and woman to be inspired and write good books for us and non-christians to enjoy. I know three really good series of christian books.
The first one is Red Rock Mysteries. It is my favorite of the two and has a lot of action. There are two main characters who's names are Ashley and Bryce. They are twins who are good christians along with their mom. They also have a stepdad and stepsister who are not, unfortunately, christians. The twins solve dangerous mysteries and grow in God every day.
The first seven books of the Red Rock Mysteries

The second you have probably heard of...the Mandie series. It is very good too. It is about a christian girl named Mandie who lives with her uncle and mother in a huge mansion. She also is part Iroquois and has adventures in the Iroquois village, as well as at home. She finds mysteries and adventures with her friends, and sometimes visits different  countries with her friends and family. It is much more fun then it sounds, and I recommend it as a series to consider reading.
A book from the series Mandie

The third book series you might have heard of. It is called the Sugar Creek Gang. The main character is Bill, who is kind hearted and caring. He is a member of the Sugar Creek Gang along with his pals, who also solve mysteries. Bill has a sister and mom and dad, and lives on a barn. The Sugar Creek Gang has many adventures, and grows closer to God as it go's. I think that, if you try it, you will enjoy this series.
There are also CD's of the Sugar Creek Gang, and this is one

I really like these three children/teen series. I hope you will read some and enjoy (what are some of your favorite christian books? How about you tell me by commenting)!

Winter Snowflakes

 Merry Christmas!!
Christmas is coming faster then we know it!
I'm always looking for a christmas craft to make for my room.
One of my 5th grade teachers ,Ms.Gwin, is sick and in the hospital, so her substitute had this awesome idea to make giant snowflakes. I'm not in Ms.Gwins
homeroom, so we weren't going to do it at first, but when my teacher, Ms.Turnage, saw them she thought it was a great idea, so we ended up doing it!

First you need 6 perfect paper squares, anywhere from 10 centimeters to 25 centimeters (I just make a good sized square, then fold it in half and make a perfect one by cutting of the extra paper). Make sure your square is folded perfectly in half and cut 4 lines--each one shorter then the last--on each side.

Then unfold it. Grab the 2 sides of the middle diamond and tape it together, it will look like the picture on the right.
Now flip it over and do the same thing to the second one, flip it over and do it to the next one, and so until it looks like the next picture.

Now make 6 of those. Once you have six, tape all the ends together (I'm sure there is a better way to tape them on YouTube). Net, fold your tape so that it is sticky on both sides and stick it to one of the longer sides. Connect it to the one thats besides it
and keep doing so until it is all stuck together and look like a snowflake.

Now your finally done and can decorate your room!!

Homemade Purses

You know those little plain white fabric purses you see at craft stores sometimes? I've never took an interest in those, but mom had a great idea for them.
She bought 3 of them, then got out her sewing machine.  Now, I only know how to make the little ruffles on the bottom two, so I guess that your going to have  to go here again to find out how to make these gorgeous purses.
JUST AN IDEA: why don't you try giving some of these to your school teachers for christmas?
